About FLIPPR
FLIPPR is a grassroots initiative began in 2000 with the view in
mind of building a world class trout fishery like no other in
existence. By 2008 we succeeded but we are not done yet. With people
coming in from all over North America and the world to seek these
monsters we must keep adding to it. More lakes in the wings are
already awaiting development. In the meantime this IS truly a
fishery like no other and one you'll want to visit at your earliest
convenience.
There's no need for expensive international flights to far distant,
isolated lakes--where the fish are
smaller anyway. There's no need to "rough it" or live in a tent for
a week. You can sleep in comfort in any number of accommodations and
eat in a different restaurant every night. You can drive to every
water, launch your tube or boat and go hunting for trout that you
won't believe, when your first major hook up occurs.
We're here to help you in your quest.
With:
- Travel Directions - both local and including the best way to
get here from other countries
- What you need to bring
- The fly patterns and tackle required
- Hydrographic maps of the more popular lakes
- "Normal" Weather Conditions for normal seasons
(as if anyone could predict that)
It's all here and, if it isn't, it's on its way

The next Annual Fly Fishing
Youth School will be held in Sandy Lake, Manitoba on May 22nd
and 23rd. The school is sponsored by the Canadian Fly Fisher
Magazine and Fly Fishing Canada as well as local organizations.
Instructors who have participated in International competition will
be available, including Canada's National Gold Medal team from 2009.
The Parkland will host the
Canadian National Fly Fishing Championships and Conservation
Symposium from May 24-29 in 2010.
While FLIPPR has no direct part in running it, we certainly need to
have things in top-notch shape since the National USA/Canadian teams has
agreed to participate and "tell their many friends"
