Parkland Trout Festival

While FLIPPR is a non-profit entity, we obviously need to raise funds  to carry out the various projects outlined in About FLIPPR. One of the ways to do this is by holding a Trout Festival.  This is a mini conclave as are held throughout the USA for various chapters of the FFF, the Federation of Fly Fishers.

The Trout festival offers the following:
  • Booth space available for members of the fly-fishing trade to display their wares
  • Professional fly tyers who display the ways and means of tying various patterns
  • The Silver Pig Challenge, a friendly competition for Top Rod honours
  • Fly-fishing youth school and various contests
  • Banquet evening with an auction, great food, beverages and live music

The Festival is held periodically in one of the Parkland's sponsoring communities and the dates announced on our Main Page.

Be certain to mark the date on your calendar and attend. There is always a wealth of techniques to make for better fly fishers and tyers. It's also a great place to promote your wares to a prairie audience and beyond.

There will not be a Trout Festival in 2010 because the The National Fly Fishing Championships and Conservation Symposium will be held in Roblin.
